Brackish, the men’s accessories line behind the original feather bow tie, has made it’s way to the flash bulbs of the 67th annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. Host Andy Samberg and Lead Actor Nominee Don Cheadle debuted two different bow ties, both of which were handcrafted in Charleston, SC, consistent with the entirety of the Brackish line.
While this is not Brackish’s first entry into the award season circuit, the Emmy’s broadcast exposed nearly 12 million viewers to the Brackish brand. Host Andy Samberg, of Saturday Night Live and Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame, wore the Green Pond design. Don Cheadle, who was nominated for his performance in Showtime’s House of Lies, paired his Guinea with a navy tuxedo on the red carpet. Both Samberg and Cheadle were exposed to Brackish by recommendations within their personal and professional networks.
Established in 2012 by co-founders Ben Ross and Jeff Plotner, the brand’s rapid growth is a result of it’s extremely vigilant attention to detail and unsurpassed craftsmanship. Although the line is available in over 160 retailers nationally, including Neiman Marcus and Orvis, every product continues to be hand crafted by a team of nearly 50 skilled artisans and production assistants with all natural, sustainably sourced feathers. The uniqueness of each feather combined with the personal style of each artisan ensures that every Brackish product is a wearable piece of art. “Our passion is combining the beauty of nature with contemporary design,” says co-founder Jeff Plotner, “but it all goes back to execution.”
The emergence of Brackish on the red carpet solidifies the brand’s reputation as the go to designer for unexpected and contemporary accents. For more information, please contact Whitney Sternbergh at 843 469 8833, or visit brackishbowties.com
