Red Dot Award Recognizes ROBRADY Design Work on Lockheed Martin’s FORTIS Exoskeleton
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) September 25, 2015 -- A familiar presence at the prestigious international design competition, ROBRADY worked closely with Lockheed Martin on a human-powered exoskeleton that extends the limits of human strength and stamina. The latest updates to the suit increase functionality and give FORTIS a sleeker look.
Among FORTIS’ features is the ability to redirect the weight of heavy industrial tools from a user’s hands and arms to the ground, dramatically increasing the wearer’s strength while simultaneously reducing fatigue. The updated rugged, ergonomic frame design was developed in less than three months through an innovative combination of rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
ROBRADY also ranked as one of Red Dot’s top design studios for 2015, a list which honors leaders in design excellence and innovation. ROBRADY’s impressive showings at the Red Dot Awards for the past five years were a primary consideration for the ranking and distinguish it as an influential force in design.
The Red Dot Design Ranking: Design Concept consists of four distinct honorary lists for Companies, Design Studios, Universities—Americas & Europe, and Universities—Asia Pacific.
