The Hignell Companies has taken over management responsibilities of the West Almanor Community Club (WACC), providing expertise, compliance, and support for the homeowners association.
Hignell assumed responsibility on September 1, 2015. WACC will have an assigned property manager that also holds the distinction of Certified Community Association Manager. This means they’re equipped to know best business practices, California laws, and ethical guidelines.
“After a great deal of analysis, discussion, and evaluation, we decided to hire The Hignell Companies to manage West Almanor Community Club because we see many benefits,” said WACC Board President Hal Sinclair. “Since they already manage other HOAs in Northern California governed by the same laws, one major benefit is that they have the expertise and processes to comply with the laws.”
Hignell will also provide West Almanor Community Club with human resources support, bookkeeping and accounting functions, and other administrative assistance.

West Almanor Community Club is a 615 acre community located on the west shore of scenic Lake Almanor, adjacent to California State Highway 89 a few miles southwest of the town of Chester. In addition to the 695 residential lots, the development includes a nine-hole golf course, four tennis courts, a beach/recreation area and a boat ramp. The golf course is open to the public, but all of the other facilities are private and reserved for property owner usage. The development began in 1974 and continues to grow as a quiet community with its own water and fire protection services.
