Federal Grants Expert to Explain Award Closeout Process in Oct. 8 Webinar
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 28, 2015 -- When federal grants awards come to either the end of a performance period or the expenditure of all of an award’s funding, the closeout process begins. Because of the unique features of each grant award, closeout has to be a “tailored” process. Nevertheless, there is pressure to get it done in a timely manner, particularly since OMB introduced a closeout deadline in its grants management guidance. “Closing Out Your Federal Grant — It’s All Over But (Hopefully) the Applause,” an upcoming webinar sponsored by Federal Fund Management Advisor, is designed to help organizations safely and effectively navigate through this process.
Led by Federal Fund Management Advisor principal Bob Lloyd, this Oct. 8 program will cover:
- How OMB’s federal grant reform initiative affects closeouts going forward
- The rules for so-called “no cost” extensions
- The routine and “not-so routine” closeout tasks
- What financial, performance and property reports are required
- How to settle up on obligations incurred and cash received
- The procedures for retaining or disposing of grant-acquired property
- How closeout of individual awards aligns with the single audit requirement
- All about the records access and retention requirements
- How to charge costs of closeout activities that occur after the performance period ends
After an hour-long presentation, generous time will be allotted for answering individual questions.
