HOT ROD’s annual Drag Week™ event has become such a success—selling out in minutes every year—that we created Drag Weekend™ to give even more racers a chance to experience what this very unique racing format is all about.

From October 28-31, 2015, competitors in the first-ever HOT ROD Drag Weekend™ will head to drag strips in Tucson, AZ, Phoenix, AZ, and Fontana, CA, for three days of quarter-mile racing and 500 miles of street driving. The car with the lowest average elapsed time over the weekend of racing is the overall winner.

Presented by Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive, the competition caps at 250 street-legal drag-race cars, which will be divided into 12 classes, including Unlimited, Modified, Super Street and more. Experienced drag race drivers and enthusiasts alike are encouraged to register and join the fun, spots are still open!

It’s not just about clocking the quickest elapsed time on the strips; these drivers will also have to follow a specified route from city to city. The crew at HOT ROD will require photographic evidence from each entry that drivers are adhering to the prescribed route. Thus, drivers will be on the clock for three straight days and must remain alert to all rules.

To make this even more of an adventure, competitors will not have the luxury of having chase vehicles, support, nor their vehicles towed or trailered. However, entrants can tow their own trailers, within HOT ROD’s guidelines, but they must work alone.

Three Cities, Three Days
Drag Weekend™ will kick off Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Tucson Dragway in Tucson, AZ, with Tech, Test and Tune for all participants. It’s here that spectators will have the first opportunity to check out the competition.

Following Tech, Test and Tune in Tucson on Oct. 28, HOT ROD Drag Weekend™ moves on to racing:

  •     Race Day One: Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Tucson Dragway in Tucson, AZ
  •     Race Day Two: Friday, Oct. 30 at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Phoenix, AZ
  •     Race Day Three and Finals: Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, CA

Participant Registration:
Pre-Registration is live on on a first-come, first-served basis at $250 per entry. Vehicles may only compete in one class. If there are fewer than 250 entries when on-site registration concludes on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Tucson Dragway in Tucson, AZ (12000 S Houghton Rd), wait-list entries present on site will be accepted.

Spectator Information:
Admission is $5 for Tech, Test and Tune and $10 for all race days for ages 13 and over. Tickets available at each individual track.
