New York, NY (PRWEB) September 28, 2015 -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is proud to once again be selected to serve as the primary provider of intellectual property law services for Alcoa Inc. The firm will continue to provide complex intellectual property legal services that include patent trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing, opinions, due diligence, domain name management, and general IP counseling. The agreement will follow the innovative fixed fee model first established between the firm and Alcoa, the leading producer of primary aluminum and fabricated aluminum, in January 2006.
“We are honored to have the continued opportunity to represent Alcoa in connection with its IP matters. Alcoa has an incredible history of innovation dating back to its founding in 1888. The firm is proud to continue our relationship with Alcoa and to support its exciting new technological developments,” said Scott J. Bornstein, a shareholder in and chair of Greenberg Traurig’s New York Intellectual Property & Technology Practice and co-chair of the firm’s Global Patent Litigation Group.
“Our partnership with Greenberg Traurig has provided Alcoa with access to consistently high quality legal services, efficiency, budgetary certainty, and business-minded solutions to our legal matters. We look forward to continuing to work with Greenberg Traurig in the upcoming years,” said Thomas Trempus, chief intellectual property counsel, law department / Alcoa Inc. “We value efficiency and innovation in our legal counsel. Quality is a given. When you find all of these qualities in one entity, you create a winning situation for all involved.”
Bornstein leads the project, along with shareholders Barry Schindler (New Jersey) and Heath Briggs (Denver). They will continue to oversee an Alcoa-focused team of approximately 50 IP attorneys, patent agents, and paralegals in more than 13 offices supporting Alcoa’s intellectual property needs under the direction of Alcoa’s in-house counsel. As part of the collaboration, Greenberg Traurig will continue to have attorneys and support staff working full-time from Alcoa’s research and development facility in Alcoa Center, Pennsylvania.
