Dr. John Bates is a proven technology executive with experience founding and growing businesses, at stages ranging from startups to public companies. He formerly held CTO and GM roles at Progress Software and Software AG and later was the CMO and Head of Industry Solutions (including IoT) at Software AG. Prior to this, he co-founded Apama, the pioneering big data streaming analytics vendor, used widely in Capital Markets and IoT. John is a respected expert and frequent speaker across IoT, big data analytics and financial services. He most recently published Thingalytics, Smart Big Data Analytics for the Internet of Things. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
