The neighborhood’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit is on display for everyone to enjoy.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 30, 2015
Chicago’s biggest interconnected neighborhood music fest makes its way through Wicker Park and Bucktown for a third consecutive run on Saturday, November 14. Presented by Lagunitas Brewing Company, ChillFest 2015 returns with over 60 local musicians of all genres playing live, acoustic sets in over 20 unconventional locations, everything from boutiques to restaurants to galleries. The extraordinary day celebrates the live music history and artistic roots of Wicker Park and Bucktown, while at the same time showcasing the unique business settings throughout the neighborhood.
“ChillFest is a great way to explore Wicker Park and Bucktown,” said Erik Harmon, Executive Director at the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. “The neighborhood’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit is on display for everyone to enjoy.”
To date, ChillFest has generated buzz all over Chicago, gaining front page recognition and exposure on most major networks. The 2015 edition of ChillFest aims to make another big splash, with organizers estimating thousands of music lovers to turn out for the most distinct neighborhood-wide fest. The setup is straightforward; every participating venue will stage four or more musicians (or musical groups) in a dedicated portion of their space on November 14 from 12 pm to 6 pm. Venues will be open for business to the general public, who can stop, shop and listen as long as they please (no tickets necessary, this is a free event). Curated by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, each artist will play one acoustic 20 to 60-minute set that is matched to the ambiance of the host venue. All artists will go through a thorough selection process.
Like in years past, a blow-out after party open to the public will take place following the fest (after party tickets and location TBA at ChillFestChicago.com). During the day, presenting sponsor Lagunitas plans to provide complimentary brews to musicians, work with participating venues to present “tap takeovers” throughout the weekend, and add interactive elements to the official ChillFest after party.
