TruGreen Announces Lansing, Michigan as a TruNeighbor City; Plans to Transform Site of Vacant House into Community Space
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 30, 2015 -- TruGreen joined the City of Lansing, Michigan today in announcing the latest project in its TruNeighbor program. Under the program, TruGreen will provide funds and in-kind services to help transform the site of a derelict, vacant house and overgrown lot into a dwarf fruit tree orchard, harvestable perennial garden and open space for neighbors to gather and children to play. TruNeighbor is a pilot program intended to support TruGreen’s commitment to help cities increase access to green spaces and beautify communities.

Thanks to TruGreen’s support, a vacant structure at the lot located at 1845 Osband Avenue in Lansing was recently demolished and the site is currently being redeveloped, with plans for an official unveiling in spring of 2016.

This is the second city to benefit from TruGreen’s TruNeighbor program, which is currently being piloted in select cities across the country. The first TruNeighbor project was completed in Gary, Indiana earlier this month.
