It’s crucial for organizations like IEEE to foster collaboration among IT and technology professionals in order to drive technological innovations and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

David Soll, President and Chief Technology Officer of Omicron, a leading IT integrator, OSIsoft PI and Microsoft technology partner, is the recipient of multiple awards from IEEE, the world’s largest association for the advancement of technology, for his leadership and guidance of the organization.

“In the fast-paced, rapidly changing world of IT infrastructure, it’s crucial for organizations like IEEE to foster collaboration among IT and technology professionals in order to drive technological innovations and excellence for the benefit of humanity,” says Soll. “I’m honored to be recognized for my role in helping bring colleagues together to stay ahead of the latest technology and help improve IT systems like OSIsoft PI.”

In the early 2000’s, many technology conferences were cancelled due to budget cuts. Recognizing the benefit of bringing his colleagues together, Soll launched the IEEE/ACM Information Technology Professional Conference in 2006. He’s served as the chair since then, helping to grow the cost-effective event that brings technology and IT professionals together.

“Under David Soll’s leadership, the conference has gained a strong reputation for providing timely technical and professional content to attendees from as far away as Africa and Japan,” says Habib Ahson, chair of the Princeton/Central Jersey section of the IEEE. “We’re grateful for David’s contributions to the IT field as he continues to innovate at Omicron and within the industry.”

Soll has received multiple awards from IEEE and has spoken at several conferences, including the Association for Computer Machinery (ACM), International Society of Automation (ISA) and Microsoft seminars. He currently serves as vice-chair of the Princeton/Central NJ Chapter of IEEE.
