Peju Province Winery held a silent auction at the winery's annual Harvest Celebration Dinner to raise funds for those affected by the Lake County Valley Fire.

It quickly became apparent to our family and our employees that we wanted to do something to help people recover from this terrible tragedy.

In light of the recent wildfire that devastated thousands of Lake County, Calif. residents, Peju Province Winery organized a silent auction as an addition to the winery’s annual Harvest Celebration Dinner on Saturday, September 19. All proceeds from the silent auction, a total of $7,265, will be donated to the Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation to help with recovery efforts for the Valley Fire and to benefit firefighters whose homes were lost while fighting to save others.

The Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation is, “organized to engage in charitable and educational activities supporting the families of firefighters and other fire suppression personnel in times of financial need or hardship.” The foundation also assists burn victims and their families and supports research on occupational hazards unique to firefighting.

“The fire has been devastating to some of our employees, fellow vintners, Lake County neighbors and our community,” notes Ariana Peju. “It quickly became apparent to our family and our employees that we wanted to do something to help people recover from this terrible tragedy.” Lisa Peju adds, “We decided to add a silent auction to our annual Harvest Celebration Dinner, and the outpouring of support was incredible. After the auction was over, guests continued to approach us about how they could donate and how they could help.”

Peju Province Winery will continue to collect donations for a number of organizations dedicated to Valley Fire relief efforts at the winery. Guests who wish to make a donation during their visit to the winery can inquire about how to do so with the tasting room staff.
