Software Allows Lawyers to Conduct Litigation Events Electronically in a Secure, Collaborative Environment.

Our software is an end-to-end solution that removes any need to print out and ship reams of paper just to conduct those events." Shawn Kennedy, CEO of eDepoze

eDepoze, a legal software company that has developed a unified platform for lawyers to use in presenting and introducing electronic evidence during the litigation events following e-discovery, announced today that it has raised $2.8 million in seed financing. The lead investor in the round was Nova Partners, LLC of Kansas City. Troy Gregory of Nova Partners will join the eDepoze board. Nova Partners’ investment was accompanied by new funds from existing eDepoze investors, as well as several new angel investors.

eDepoze will use the funds to continue expansion of its litigation software platform, grow its base of law firm and corporate legal clients, and expand its team.

eDepoze’s expanded software system will provide a single, cloud-based platform for attorneys to work with electronic exhibits and evidence during depositions, trials, arbitrations, witness preparation sessions, hearings, and mediations. It also will enable litigation teams to collaborate more efficiently between events, all while delivering substantial cost savings to law firms and their clients.

“In the existing legal technology landscape, you have a lot of great software that lawyers use during the e-discovery process, plus other options for organizing and analyzing case documents behind the scenes. What never existed before was a single software system that lawyers could use during various critical events like depositions, trials, and witness prep sessions,” said eDepoze CEO Shawn Kennedy. “Our software is an end-to-end solution that removes any need to print out and ship reams of paper just to conduct those events.”

“We think eDepoze is going to play a key role in modernizing the legal industry,” said Gregory. “The company is led by an impressive team of legal market insiders, and it has seen a lot of early success in delivering its solution to the market. That should only accelerate with the introduction of the expanded platform, especially given the additional value eDepoze is creating for its users.”
