San Diego-based Health and Wellness Foundation Opens Applications for Annual Grantmaking Initiative
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 05, 2015 -- Alliance Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a San Diego-based nonprofit organization which works to advance health and wellness for the poor and underserved in the San Diego and Imperial Counties, recently opened the application period for its 2016 round of Mission Support Grants (MSGs).
Since 2005, AHF has awarded approximately $1 million annually to regional nonprofits through the MSG program.
The application period opens Oct. 5 and will conclude Nov. 6. All applications received will then be evaluated, with grantees being chosen by a vote from AHF’s board of directors.
“It’s always interesting and encouraging to review the applications and to see the work of those who seek to make our community a healthier, more forward-thinking place,” said AHF Board Chair Elizabeth Dreicer. “We’re honored to fund organizations whose visions align with our own, and we believe this year’s Mission Support Grants will impact our community’s healthcare delivery system in remarkable ways.”
Previous winners of a Mission Support Grant from AHF include organizations that are intimately involved in serving the underserved—the poor, working poor, uninsured and underinsured, children and the homeless—in the San Diego and Imperial Counties.
“AHF developed the Mission Support Grants program to help local organizations accomplish their mission of positively impacting the community healthcare system,” said AHF Executive Director Nancy Sasaki. “Year by year, we’ve generated more participation and funded more and more organizations with these grants, making us very excited to see what types of applications we receive for 2016.”
This year’s awardees will be announced in February 2016.
