NJ Advance Media Invests $25,000 to Support New Jersey’s Entrepreneurs
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- With the increased importance of local marketing to small businesses, NJ Advance Media’s support of new and growing companies is creating opportunities for small business owners to compete with larger brands on a more level playing field. Recently, NJ Advanced Media sponsored Rising Tide Capital’s 4th annual Start Something Challenge (SSC)---a statewide business pitch competition that empowers small businesses to expand their online and offline marketing through experiential learning. NJ Advanced Media provided in-kind advertisements for the SSC, allowing a greater number of New Jersey entrepreneurs to learn about the Challenge and have the opportunity to compete.
“All businesses need customers, and the SSC is focused on empowering entrepreneurs to improve their online and offline marketing skills by building their online presence as well as engaging the natural, local customer bases for their businesses”, said Esther Fraser, director of communications at Rising Tide Capital. “The sponsorship helped us expand our reach to even more small businesses across the state in support of our mission to transform lives and communities through entrepreneurship. We are so grateful for a strong partner in our mission of strengthening the economic base of our most vulnerable communities.”
The in-kind sponsorship allowed RTC to advertise the SSC and upcoming gala on the State’s largest and most popular platforms, providing greater reach to potential challenge participants. The 2015 SSC competition saw a 26 percent increase in participants, thanks in part to the increase in visibility due to the sponsorship.
“NJ Advance Media is focused on two things, a real-time approach to reporting news across multiple platforms and helping New Jersey businesses grow by finding the right audiences,” says Michele Hayes, Director of Marketing and Community Affairs. “The Start Something Challenge is a great fit for our corporate and community goals. We can help Rising Tide Capital spread the news about this important initiative and support the growth of new companies and entrepreneurs through education and mentorship.”
To recognize NJ Advance Media and other sponsors along with the winners of the SSC, RTC will host their 4th annual Start Something Champions Gala, held November 5, 2015.
