The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System has Been Placed in the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM) in Paris, France
(PRWEB) October 05, 2015 -- Logos Biosystems announced that the X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System has been placed in Histomics, the histology core facility at the Brain and Spine Institute (Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Epinière - ICM) located in Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, the largest hospital in France and one of the largest in Europe.
The ICM is a neuroscience research institution dedicated to developing practical solutions for patients suffering from brain and spinal cord disorders. Its unique location brings doctors, research scientists, and patients together, ensuring that discoveries on the bench can quickly enhance the health and wellness of patients, while harvesting a wealth of scientific data. The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System was purchased to support multiple projects within the ICM by providing a fast and simple solution for studying whole samples without the need to section.
“The X-CLARITY™ allows us to perform rapid, efficient and standardized clearing of mouse and human brain tissue,” said Annick Prigent and Benoît Delatour, the operational and scientific managers of the ICM Histomics core facility. “Access to the X-CLARITY™ technology will undoubtedly help the ICM research teams to better understand the 3D organization of protein assemblies and organelles in tissues.”
CLARITY is a tissue clearing method developed by scientists at Stanford University that produces structurally sound and transparent whole tissues ready for multiple rounds of antibody labeling and imaging. The method has opened up a world of possibilities, from tracing neural circuitry to exploring the relationship between structure and function with a global perspective.
Logos Biosystems licensed and independently developed the CLARITY technology to make significant improvements for tissue clearing speed, efficiency, and reproducibility.
The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System from Logos Biosystems is an all-in-one, easy-to-use solution for electrophoretic tissue clearing. Its unique design accelerates the removal of lipids from tissues in a highly efficient manner.

About ICM
The Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle épinière – ICM (Brain & Spine Institute) – is an international brain and spinal cord research center whose innovative concept and structure make it the only institute of its kind in the world. The ICM brings patients, doctors, and researchers together with the aim of rapidly developing treatments for disorders of the nervous system and enabling patients to benefit from them as quickly as possible. The best scientists from all backgrounds and countries come together at the institute to perform leading-edge research in this area. To help researchers advance in their work and give patients tangible reasons for hope, we must all play a role: government agencies, corporate actors, and individuals. No one can afford to idly stand by, because this fight is vital to every one of us.
