Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Name Gayborhood’s Marci Alt Businesswoman of the Year

Marci Alt, Chief Executive Officer of Gayborhood, was named businesswoman of the year during Gay Atlanta’s annual awards ceremony and silent auction. The event, held at Fox Theatre earlier this month, is presented by the Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and focuses on LGBT business leaders and allies.
Alt has been active in the LGBT community for more than two decades, founding the original Gay Community Yellow Pages based out of Atlanta over 20 years ago. Since then, Alt has continued to be a driving force in the LGBT community nationally by contributing to countless charities and helping empower business owners to reach LGBT consumers nationwide. Alt currently oversees the day-to-day sales operations of GCYP and Gayborhood.
The evening proved to be one of highlight for Gayborhood as the company also won Small Business of the Year for their work promoting LGBT-welcoming businesses and for their support of the AGLCC and other Atlanta non-profit organizations.
Two other members of the Gayborhood team were recognized for their contributions to the city. Thomas Ryan-Lawrence, Chief Operating Officer of Gayborhood, was nominated for Member of the Year and Paul Beauchamp, Gayborhood’s Marketing Manager, was nominated for Rising Star.
The sold out event recognized many other contributors to the LGBT community as well.
