Johnson County REMC Enhances System Performance with Survalent ONE™ ADMS Solution
BRAMPTON, ON (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- Located in Franklin, Indiana and serving more than 23,000 meters in Johnson County and portions of Morgan, Shelby and Brown counties, Johnson County REMC (JCREMC) was faced with an aging system and needed a new SCADA system that provides advanced technology with easy-to-use tools for programming and data visualization.
JCREMC chose Survalent Technology’s Survalent ONE™ ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) based on its seamless integration with JCREMC’s server and database systems, superior design, functionality and value.
JCREMC deployed a new dual redundant system that includes Survalent's highly-available, open-architecture system which allows them to create their own programs and databases. The system is based on Windows Server, and includes the most advanced, latest graphical user interface, SmartVU.
A full suite of MultiSpeak interfaces enable JCREMC to have standard data exchange for engineering analysis, outage analysis, load management, AMI and GIS system. The SurvCentral application provides JCREMC with capabilities to make better decisions more quickly with mobile browser access to their SCADA information such as operator summary, substation line diagrams, alarms and distribution network map. Other advanced applications available to JCREMC in the Survalent ONE™ ADMS are VVO (Volt/VAR Optimization), Load Flow, Voltage Regulation, and Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration (FLISR). In a power outage situation, the FLISR technology has the capability to automatically isolate the damaged portion of the feeder through line switches and re-energize the remaining areas to quickly restore power to the customers.
Steve Strauss, Regional Sales VP for the Eastern US states, “We are pleased to add Johnson County REMC to our family of customers. In a new system Johnson County REMC wanted to use MultiSpeak to improve operational efficiency through exchanging data with other software systems and utilize the enhanced visualization of Survalent’s SmartVU & SurvCentral. It was also important that Survalent offered a future path for DMS.”
Survalent is excited to work with JCREMC and help provide reliable and competitively priced electricity to its members.
