Home builders nationally are building and preparing for immediate occupancy “spec” or speculative homes for buyers restless and ready to move in today. Communities like Villaggio Reserve by Ansca Homes recently have listed for sale several single family homes offering a variety of upscale features and finishes, including more bedrooms or dens, larger covered patios and outdoor spaces, and central clubhouses to those 55-plus home buyers who want to move into their Delray Beach, Florida, home today.

Buyers ready to move into their 55-plus single-family residence today are finding a growing inventory nationwide – including in Delray Beach, Florida, and the luxury resort-style community, Villaggio Reserve. Upscale developer Ansca Homes has released several spec homes prepared for immediate occupancy, with more to be ready in the coming months.

“Most people wait their entire lives to move into a lifestyle community, only to wait six to 12 months longer for their home to be ready. Like other builders around the country, we’ve taken the wait out of home-buying,” said Ron Yuter, Senior Vice President with Ansca Homes, whose residences at Villaggio Reserve range from the $290,000s to the $400,000s. “We have models ready for immediate move-in, when buyers are ready to take that next step.”

Construction of new, speculative homes, which typically are single family residences built without a buyer contract but in anticipation of a future buyer, was up more than 17% in 2014 over 2013, according to Commerce Department data as cited in the Wall Street Journal in January 2015. As of December 31, some 218,000 homes under construction or completed nationwide were listed for sale by builders, the paper reported.

At communities like Villaggio Reserve, the bullish practice of preparing spec homes comes as buyers show favorable response to the community’s five single-family floorplans. The larger Palma, Pisano, and Portofino, recently were joined by the slightly smaller Paladina and Pisano single family residences.

Like very single family home at Villaggio Reserve, the two new residences also include a combination of two or three bedrooms, two or three baths, a den, a family room and a living room, entertainment spaces, eat-in areas, two-car garages and large covered patios.
