How do we live our life? Is it a mad, daily rush only paused by the occasional vacation? Can we stop to smell the beauty of the moment?

Stop and Smell Your Children: Laugh and Enjoy the Little Years offers moms-to-be and moms of young children short, real-life parenting stories that encourage and inspire. Leah Spina, mother of three children ages five and under, and former journalist, unleashes humor and perspective for tired moms who are parenting the “little” years. From the excitement of the positive pregnancy test to morning sickness and the banes of pregnancy, to childbirth, babies, toddlers and new parent struggles, the stories will make you laugh and see beauty in the chaos. Each story also includes thought-provoking takeaways to help busy moms gain a fresh outlook. The book is available for purchase through Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, and Reader’s Legacy.
Leah Spina believes that changing your perspective as a new parent can change everything for the better. Her message is to encourage overwhelmed, stressed out mothers with wit, humor and honest candidacy about the challenges of new parenthood through real-life stories. She tasted common, new parenthood battles firsthand: as a new mother, Spina experienced a great deal of emotional upheaval and overwhelm. When her second child was born, she worked as hard as she could to care for two small children, but felt overwhelmed. She wanted to enjoy motherhood and her small children, but she didn’t know how. Slowly, she started to change her perspective and soon realized that children are only small once – maybe the little years were not just a season to endure, but a once- in-a-lifetime gift to savor each day. Spina’s determination to slow down and enjoy time with her kids inspired her new book, Stop and Smell Your Children.
Spina also shares parenting humor, inspiration and insights through weekly blog posts at leahspina.com.
