Qosmos Presents Layer 7 Application Visibility for NFV and Data Centers at the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress 2015
Paris, France (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Qosmos®, the market leader in Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and network intelligence technology for use in physical, SDN and NFV architectures, today announced its participation at the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress from 12 to 16 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Thibaut Bechetoille, Qosmos CEO, will join CEOs from around the world at the ONF/SDN Workshop on Monday October 12 at 2.05 p.m., speaking in a session on “ONF Startups- Shaping the Future”.
It is Qosmos’ vision that future networks will be built on components and leverage open source frameworks. For components from different suppliers to work, they will need to be interlinked with standardized interfaces defined by organizations such as ETSI, ONF, and IETF. In addition, the new component-based architecture will be structured around open source software (e.g. OpenDaylight as a network controller). As a consequence, Qosmos contributes extensively to open source projects like OpenStack, OpenDaylight, OVS, and OPNFV.
Thibaut will share his experience of establishing new technologies on an emerging market, how Qosmos is contributing to advances in Open SDN through initiatives such as the ONF and the importance of open source and standardization in the roll-out of the next-generation of networks.
On Tuesday October 13 at 5:05 p.m., Jerome Tollet, Qosmos CTO, will present “Layer 7 Application Visibility for NFV and Data Centers”.
Layer 7 traffic classification is a new technology to enable the required detailed, real-time traffic visibility in data center and NFV environments. Key use cases include dynamic service chaining in Gi-LAN environments, virtual CPE, and micro-segmentation for enhanced cyber security in datacenters.
The Layer 7 Classifier is a standalone software component located in the packet data path, classifying traffic flows in real time for further processing in e.g. switches, PCEF, firewall, probes, etc. It recognizes traffic up to Layer 7 using Deep Packet Inspection and associated techniques. It is built from the inception to be integrated within industry reference frameworks such as SFC, SDN, NFV, and Open Source, and managed by OpenDaylight, OpenStack, etc.
