Kane Russell Coleman & Logan Published In LexisNexis’ New Appleman On Insurance Law Library Edition
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 05, 2015 -- Kane Russell Coleman & Logan attorneys Larry Bowman, Donald Waltz, David Fisk and Bradford Smith recently authored a chapter in the New Appleman on Insurance Law Library Edition. The esteemed guide is published by LexisNexis and provides authoritative and comprehensive examination of insurance law by leading scholars and practitioners of insurance law. According to LexisNexis, this 12 volume set is the "next generation" in insurance law. The Appleman set is considered the most comprehensive source for insurance law in the United States.
The chapter the attorneys wrote, titled “Amount Recoverable in Subrogation,” provides an introduction to the rights of subrogation, addresses the apportionment of any recoveries with the insured, and discusses the economic loss doctrine in relation to contract claims. The chapter also examines the recovery for “stigma damages” and for expenses and attorney's fees in subrogation actions.
“After handling complex subrogation claims for many of the world’s leading insurers, self-insured companies, and third-party administrators in high profile, large-dollar losses, our Large Loss Subrogation Group has seen it all. When invited to write this chapter for Appleman's we were elated. Inclusion in such a prestigious publication allows us to showcase and share the valuable knowledge we have acquired over years of practice,” says Michael Logan, the Head of Litigation.
Larry Bowman, a director of the firm, heads the Large Loss Subrogation Group. For over thirty years, he has represented clients in complex commercial litigation. Donald Waltz, also a director of the firm and member of the Large Loss Subrogation Group, has prosecuted major subrogation actions in nearly every jurisdiction in the east, central and southern regions of the country. David Fisk is a director at the firm who practices in the Litigation and Insurance Sections with an emphasis in large loss subrogation and construction matters. Bradford Smith is an associate of the firm and focuses his practice on general commercial litigation, including construction defects, large loss subrogation, and personal injury defense.
