Local Charleston Startup Pozify Recognized in Inc Magazine
Charleston, South Carolina (PRWEB) October 08, 2015 -- Local Charleston startup Pozify has been recognized by Inc magazine as one of the top seven mobile apps that are changing the way we are networking in 2015. The app was still in its open testing phase when it received this distinction, and placed at number two on the list, ahead of key competitor Pinterest.
Pozify is a social networking app designed around spreading positivity throughout the Internet. The platform uses a very unique "Level of Like" scoring system that helps users connect and filter content that they want. With this “content-first” system, which allows users to find posted information that they care about before connecting with other users. The aim is to give users greater control over who they connect with based on mutual interests. Further, the app rewards users with ‘mPoints’ — a point-based system that can be exchanged for prizes or cash donations to charity — for taking everyday actions such as logging in, sending/accepting friend requests, posting, etc.
Pozify, Inc. is also a part of a vibrant local startup scene within the Charleston area. They recently leased office space within the Harbor Entrepreneur Center, a non-profit co-working space that brings together entrepreneurs from many different fields in the Charleston region. CEO Erik Wilson views this as an advantageous location where he can further his “philanthrepreneur endeavors.” In particular, they are working closely with social media marketing company and fellow Charleston enterprise Modern Connection to further their connection to the Charleston area. Charleston has seen an increase in entrepreneurial activity lately, and has recently taken on the moniker of the “Silicon Harbor” in the Southeast. Pozify sees this as the ideal place to continue their work on bringing positivity to the Internet and the world at large.
Pozify plans to continue to become an active body within the local Charleston entrepreneur community, which it says will give it access to a wealth of ideas that it can take with it going forward, as well as the ability to explore partnership opportunities. While Charleston is now officially home to Pozify’s U.S. headquarters, they also have other offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, with one acting as their overseas headquarters.
