Kurgo, today announced the voluntary recall of an estimated 6,000 bike baskets due to the falling risk posed if the plastic clamp breaks and detaches from the bicycle’s handlebars. Kurgo issued the recall in response to 10 reports of the plastic clamps breaking; no serious injuries have been reported.
Consumers are asked to immediately remove and discontinue use of the product. Consumers can register to return their product and receive a $75 Kurgo gift card online at http://www.kurgo.com/product-safety.

The Kurgo Skybox Bike Basket was sold at Petco, Pet Valu and other pet product retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada and online from September 2013 through August 2015 at the MSRP of $55.
The Bike Baskets with PO numbers 2068, 3176 and 3304 are included in the recall. The PO numbers can be found stitched on the back of the “Play!” tag located inside the basket, above the zipper pocket. The Bike Baskets have an aluminum frame with an orange and black fabric exterior and light blue fabric interior.
