SlimGenics Supports the American Cancer Society as a Flagship Sponsor of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event in Denver, CO
Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 08, 2015 -- Last year, 2,250 participants joined SlimGenics® Weight Control Centers and the American Cancer Society to help combat breast cancer at Making Strides Denver and raised an impressive $232,000. As a flagship sponsor, SlimGenics is working with the American Cancer Society to make sure this year brings even more participation, support and awareness. We hope everyone will sign up to join SlimGenics and the American Cancer Society on October 11th in Denver at Fiddlers Green Circle or in Cleveland at the Metroparks Zoo for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
“We believe that balanced nutrition is a cornerstone to a healthy life and is key in helping to prevent cancer. Through SlimGenics Weight Control Centers and the SlimGenics Foundation, we seek to strengthen the communities we serve and are dedicated to providing individuals and families with relevant information regarding daily nutrition that leads to life, vitality and health improvement. We are thrilled to be a Flagship Sponsor of Denver’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and helping to increase awareness of breast cancer prevention,” said Unity Franko, SlimGenics President and COO.
According to the World Cancer Research Fund, one in every three cancer cases in developed countries like the United States is related to obesity, physical inactivity and/or poor nutrition, and consequently could be prevented. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. SlimGenics and the American Cancer Society are working to help people everywhere take proactive steps to reduce their cancer risk by making healthier choices every day. SlimGenics created the “Be the One” campaign to call attention to cancer prevention by committing to a healthier lifestyle.
“The American Cancer Society thanks SlimGenics for supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and helping to make a difference in our community,” said Cristina Johnson, American Cancer Society community manager, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
