Low freeze point DEF can be used as a full substitute for or additive to conventional DEF to improve cold weather performance of diesel exhaust aftertreatment

BWL Business Solutions Inc. announced today it has finalized a licensing agreement with Eastman Chemical Company that provides BWL with the exclusive North American rights to Eastman’s patented Denoxium™ chemistry, a new and innovative diesel additive that delivers performance even in extremely cold temperatures.
“We are excited to bring Denoxium™ to market,” said Barry Lonsdale, president of BWL. “It can be used as a full substitute for conventional diesel exhaust fluid and does not crystallize until -35 degrees Fahrenheit. It can also be used as an additive to improve exhaust after treatment cold weather performance.”
BWL expects to begin marketing this new and innovative product in all product configurations, ranging from 2.5-gallon containers to FTL bulk shipments, in time to meet customers’ 2015-16 winter requirements.
“This unique derivative technology demonstrates a broadened effort to extract value from the Eastman portfolio of intellectual property,” said Pekka Johnsson, Eastman manager of Application Development and Technical Service. “BWL brings both market connect and technical expertise to deploy this solution.”
BWL Business Solutions Inc., is a London, Ontario-based company founded in 2013 by Lonsdale, who has been involved in the nitrogen industry for over 17 years. He has extensive experience in NOx reduction from fossil fuel combustion utilizing nitrogen-based compounds.
