Leader in Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) hires Cisco and BMC veteran to head European operations

ThinkingPhones, an innovator in developing mobile-enabled, analytics-driven business communications that unify voice, text, and conferencing services via a single cloud platform, today announced that it has hired Luca Lazzaron as Senior Vice President of International Operations.

Based in Zurich, Amsterdam, and London, Luca will be responsible for leading ThinkingPhones’ international sales strategy and managing business development in the EMEA and APAC regions. Lazzaron’s appointment comes as ThinkingPhones focuses on consolidating its European presence and growing its enterprise customer base in the region.

“Luca has demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout his entire career, and we are excited to have him serve as the foundation of the company’s international strategy to expand our global operations,” said Steve Kokinos, Founder and CEO, ThinkingPhones. “His proven ability to develop and execute on the strategic vision of venture capital and research consulting firms uniquely positions Luca to extend the reach of our suite of unified communications products and services to meet increasing demand.”

Prior to joining ThinkingPhones, Lazzaron was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Software Consulting at BMC, EMEA General Manager at Bladelogic, and EMEA Manager of Advanced Technologies at Cisco. He has vast experience scaling rapid-growth startup and IPO companies, as well as operational management experience at large worldwide corporations. Luca oversaw acquisitions at Geotel and Bladelogic, generating more than $3B in combined value. While at BMC, he managed teams of up to 2,000 employees that generated total revenue of over $1B. For the past two years, Luca has collaborated with several venture capital and research consulting firms and is an active investor and board member in early-stage software and service startups.

“I am honored to join ThinkingPhones in such a key role,” said Lazzaron. “This is a very exciting time for the organization, particularly due to our increased focus on international expansion and seizing UCaaS market opportunities outside the U.S. We are already seeing exponential growth in EMEA and we plan to replicate that growth in APAC. I look forward to contributing to ThinkingPhones’ continued success as it expands its footprint in an increasingly competitive business landscape.”

Luca received an MA in Business/Managerial Economics from Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia.
