The landmark six-story Holiday Inn and Suites in downtown East Peoria received the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) 2015 Newcomer Award as one of the best properties to join the system within the last year. Out of 786 Holiday Inns in the Americas, 7 Holiday Inn Hotels won the Newcomer Award during the 2015 IHG Americas Owners Conference in San Francisco last week. To qualify, recipients consistently demonstrated the highest standards of quality and overall guest satisfaction rankings over the previous 12 month period.
The property also received the IHG 2015 New Development Design Award for successfully implementing a new design program during the past year. The recipients of this award are judged to have improved and updated their properties. The hotel’s many amenities include the award-winning Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse. Both the hotel and restaurant are owned and operated by Heart of America Group, headquartered in Moline, Ill.

At the IHG Americas Owners Conference, Heart of America Group also won the 2015 IHG New Development Design Award for its Holiday Inn and Suites in Davenport, Iowa.
