London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 10 October 2015
Thump Trading Ltd., the exclusive agent of Merino Kids in the UK, is happy to announce a new programme to support the Wandsworth Foodbank in Southwest London.
The Wandsworth Foodbank is a largely volunteer-run organisation – with over 300 volunteers and two staff – that helps local SW London families and individuals in real crisis by providing a warm welcome, a listening ear and emergency food at five Foodbank centres across the borough.
This season, Merino Kids wants to step up support for this great charity by donating £1.50 to the Foodbank from the sale of every Merino Kids™ Go Go Bag™ sleep bag bought online or in the Northcote Road Showroom between 7th October and 23rd December. Customers can also match or add their own voluntary donation. All proceeds raised will go directly to Wandsworth Foodbank (registered charity 1149780) in the first week of the New Year 2016.
This programme runs together with the regular “Sleeping Bag Exchange” programme, where customers send in their old sleeping bag for recycling, to receive 15% off the purchase of a new Merino Kids Standard Weight Go Go Bag™. Since last year, over 200 sleeping bags have been recycled to families who need them - great news for them as well as helping reduce landfill.
“Our 100% natural Merino products feel and do good. The Wandsworth Foodbank is a fabulous local organisation that also does good for those in need. We have a long and proud association with the Foodbank and we really want to step our support for them this Christmas season.” says Alex Zervos, Director of Thump Trading.
Dan Frith, Manager of the Wandsworth Foodbank says: “This is an incredible plan, we so appreciate the support. The provision of baby sleeping bags has been a really amazing boost to the support we can offer families. This addition of financial support will be such a help. Gifts like this will mean that more families and individuals in crisis will get needed relief.”

The foodbank is run in partnership with local churches led by St Mark's Church, Battersea Rise, London, SW11 1EJ. The foodbank network is part of The Trussell Trust, a Christian charity committed to community action against poverty and marginalisation in the UK.
