DSFederal, Inc. Wins $20M FDA Safety Reporting Portal IDIQ Contract
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) October 09, 2015 -- DSFederal today announced that it was awarded a $20 million ceiling value IDIQ contract and a task order to maintain and enhance the FDA Safety Reporting Portal (SRP), a repository that collects and disseminates information about FDA-regulated products that pose public health threats. DSFederal partnered with Precise Software Solutions, Inc. and Dovel Technologies to offer FDA unmatched experience and intimate knowledge of the SRP system.
SRP acquires adverse event data from manufacturers, health care professionals, researchers, and the public and then transmits this information to various organizations within FDA, including the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, among others. Analysts within these organizations evaluate the data to assess health risks and safety threats in real-time. The IDIQ contract supports the FDA Office of Information Management and Technology’s (OIMT) need to modernize and expand the portal in response to shifting legislative mandates and evolving agency requirements.
The award marks the latest in a series of projects to develop and enhance systems that report safety information to government agencies – a critical step in gathering insights about potentially harmful products. DSFederal was also awarded a contract to improve the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s SaferProducts.gov by making consumer incident data sets more accessible on the site. Last September, the company began a Department of Transportation (DOT) project to create a reporting system that collects and displays traffic incident data.
“On each project, our clients need access to specific information in order to provide the highest quality products and services to the public,” said CEO Sophia Parker. “This project defines our core offering: developing digital communication channels that streamline the processes of analyzing, harmonizing, and visualizing data.”
Outside of the IDIQ vehicle, DSFederal was recently awarded a training and curriculum development contract for FDA’s Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) to develop, and deliver courses for FDA investigators conducting food product inspections. Additionally, we continue to support FDA in providing CA Clarity implementation and maintenance and Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) support.
