John Brynjolfsson and Tim Alford Join James Alpha Advisors
Newy York, NY (PRWEB) October 12, 2015 -- John Brynjolfsson, veteran PIMCO money manager and founder of Armored Wolf, along with Tim Alford, long-time fellow Armored Wolf portfolio manager and investment committee member, announced they will be joining James Alpha Advisors in order to continue to serve as portfolio managers of the James Alpha Global Enhanced Real Return Fund (GRRIX).

During Brynjolfsson’s 19-year tenure at PIMCO he conceived, launched and grew PIMCO’s Real Return platform from start-up to $80 billion in third-party assets, including launching and managing PIMCO’s second, third, and fourth largest public funds. He is an expert in the areas of asset allocation, risk management, global macro investing and managing alternative real assets, including commodities, global inflation-linked bonds, and event-linked catastrophe bonds.
A popular and provocative communicator, Brynjolfsson is a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and PBS’s Wealth Track, has been quoted in The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and featured in Fortune magazine. He is also a member of industry advisory committees and has testified before the House Financial Services Committee as an expert on catastrophic risk transfer.
Prior to joining Armored Wolf, Alford was Portfolio Manager, Head Trader and one of three members of the Investment Committee with Clarium Capital Management, a global macro hedge fund that grew from $2 billion to $5 billion in assets during Tim’s tenure and where he managed 13 traders and portfolio managers. During his 23 year career in asset management, Tim has served as a portfolio manager at CRG Partners Funds, Halcyon Financial Advisors, PG&E Energy Trading, and PNC Bank. His areas of expertise include risk management, securities trading, global macro, emerging market currencies, and investing across multiple asset classes.
