The presentation will address the role of conversation between providers and patients as a key factor in driving behavior change around chronic disease, and present an innovative digital tool designed to help pediatricians learn to manage challenging family and patient conversations regarding childhood obesity and its attendant risk factors.

On Saturday, October 24th, at 2:30 p.m., Goldman will participate in the “Council on School Health” session, where he will present “A Web-Based Interactive Tool to Enhance Schools’ Capacity to Aid At-Risk Students” with Eliot E. Goldman, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, Columbia University Medical Center, and Rachel J. Goldman of Ardsley High School. The presentation will demonstrate digital tools that use virtual role-play to help educators, staff and administrators learn common signs of psychological distress and how to approach an at-risk student for referral to the appropriate support services.
