Dynamic Fitness Proud to Take Part in St. Jude's Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer
Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 12, 2015 -- On Sept. 26, the team at Dynamic Fitness joined supporters from 58 communities to participate in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer at the Houston Zoo during September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The Walk/Run helped to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Jared Williams, CEO of Dynamic Fitness, came up with the idea to involve his team with the walk in an effort to give back to the community. It was the perfect opportunity to engage in a team-bonding exercise that would promote a healthy lifestyle while supporting a great cause.
"We at Dynamic Fitness feel that the work St Jude's does is extremely important. They touch so many lives in our community in a positive way and we are very happy to support their efforts," explained Jared Williams.
St. Jude's is one of the country's greatest resources in cancer research, as well as helping children with terminal diseases. The family-friendly walk/run raises funds that support their life-saving mission in which no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
Dynamic Fitness is dedicated to providing their guests with the best workout, so the event was a perfect match for them. Unfortunately, running isn't permitted inside of the Houston Zoo, so it was more of a Walk than a Walk/Run. Still, the Dynamic Fitness team had a wonderful time and looks to engage in more activities that will aid local charities.
St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs that it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude is a step forward in finally finding absolute cures to end adolescent terminal illness.
The walk started at 7:45 a.m. and the outpouring of people who came to support the cause was overwhelming. This particular walk in Houston raised $182,603 for St. Jude's, and Dynamic Fitness could not be prouder to have contributed to the event.
