Stephen T. Fowler has joined the Washington, D.C. office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as of counsel in its Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice.

Stephen T. Fowler has joined the Washington, D.C. office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as of counsel in its Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice. Fowler previously worked as counsel at Reed Smith.

“Stephen has an impressive background representing pharmaceutical and medical device companies in complex litigation nationwide, and we are proud that he will be a part of our Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice,” said Lori Cohen, shareholder and chair of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation and Trial practices as well as co-chair of the firm’s Atlanta Litigation Practice. “The breadth of Stephen’s experience, particularly in working with the scientific and FDA experts on a national scale, will make him an invaluable part of our team.”

Fowler focuses his practice on products liability defense and is an experienced trial attorney. His experience includes defending manufacturers of a wide variety of products from medical devices and pharmaceuticals in mass tort litigation, to individual cases involving surgical mesh, electric wheelchairs, insulin pumps, consumer products, food contamination, and industrial machinery. In each of his products cases, he works closely with medical, scientific, and regulatory experts, and is a judicial fellow in the American Academy of Medical Experts.

“Starting this new chapter at Greenberg Traurig is an exciting step for me, particularly working alongside attorneys in the firm’s nationally-recognized Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice and Products Liability & Mass Torts Practice,” said Fowler. “I look forward to leveraging my background and knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in my new role to provide better service to my clients,” said Fowler.

Fowler received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, where he was a member of the American Inns of Court, and his B.A. from Allegheny College.
