Thermi® Partners with Internationally Renowned Gynecologist William Saye, M.D.
Irving, TX (PRWEB) October 13, 2015 -- Thermi, an award-winning and innovative aesthetic technology company, has tapped Dr. Bill Saye as the newest professional to introduce the latest development, ThermiVa® temperature controlled radiofrequency to the medical community.
Dr. Bill Saye is highly recognized as a leading professional in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a pioneer in the field of laparoscopy. On June 22, 1988, Dr. Saye, in concert with J. Barry McKernan, M.D., PhD, performed the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the United States.
In 1990, Dr. Saye opened the Advanced Laparoscopic Training Center (ALTC) in Marietta, GA. He and Eddie Reddick, M.D., FACS trained over 5000 surgeons to perform the “Lap Chole” in the first 3 years. Beginning in 1991, the laparoscopic removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) was popularized to replace the invasive “open” hysterectomy. In addition to the hysterectomy, ALTC incorporated the laparoscopic technique of pelvic floor reconstruction, including urinary incontinence surgery. From 1990-1999, Dr. Saye was the owner, President, and CEO of ALTC and trained over 17,000 surgeons. Because of his steadfast commitment to the medical-surgical needs and overall welfare of his patients, he maintained a large and very active medical practice at the same time. His schedule allowed ALTC’s course participants to remotely observe and audit Saye’s live surgery streamed to the classroom. Because of Dr. Saye’s extensive expertise in the area of laparoscopy, Thermi has selected him to join their medical team to expand the development of ThermiVa nationwide. In May of 2015, Dr. Saye was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by his alma mater, Tulane Medical School.

Vaginal laxity is a largely under-reported condition often experienced by women after vaginal childbirth or menopause. ThermiVa, a unique temperature controlled radio frequency treatment was designed and tested to treat vaginal conditions.
“ThermiVa therapy is the most exciting advancement I have seen in Gynecology in the past fifteen years. I am very excited about the use of ThermiVa to treat vaginal laxity, urinary incontinence, atrophic vaginitis, and labial abnormalities,” said William Saye, M.D., FACOG, FACS. He added, “ThermiVa is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that is performed in the office setting. This provides a tremendous cost saving option to the patient. I commend the entire Thermi team for supporting the development of this extraordinary advancement in the field of women’s health.
