UHY Advisors Selects New Members to Its Board of Directors
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) October 14, 2015 -- UHY Advisors, Inc. (“UHY Advisors”), one of the nation’s leading professional services firms, announces the designation of Robert Bauer, Thomas Callan, Howard Foote, Michael Mahoney, Steven McCarty and Steven Wendling to serve on the firm’s board of directors. Joining these leaders on the board is the firm’s chief executive officer, Anthony Frabotta. This seven member board is charged with the stewardship of UHY Advisors, guiding its corporate strategy, reviewing and approving annual budgets, and appointing and monitoring the performance of the CEO. Their terms of office commenced October 1st.

Robert Bauer is a managing director of UHY Advisors MO, Inc. and a partner of UHY LLP. He also serves on a number of the firm’s national tax committees. Mr. Bauer has cultivated a reputation with his clients as a common sense business advisor and tax planning advocate. He is a board member of the St. Louis estate planning council, Sunset Country Club and St. Louis Rotary Club. Mr. Bauer’s core technical strengths include tax planning and compliance for closely held businesses including federal tax and transaction planning. He is also the tax advisor to numerous high net worth clients. Mr. Bauer received his B.S. in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from the University of Missouri. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Missouri and Certified Financial Planner®. He’s been with the firm and its predecessors since 1984.
Thomas Callan is a member of UHY Advisors’ national executive committee and the leader of the Farmington Hills, MI office. He also heads the firm’s national construction practice. His expertise includes providing guidance on tax compliance issues, state and local tax planning, business valuations and litigation support. Mr. Callan was the former president of Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit, a nonprofit that provides support to individuals and their families living with cancer. He also aided in the formation of UHY Cares, the firm’s independent 501c3 nonprofit organization, which he also serves as president. Mr. Callan received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Walsh College in Troy, MI. He is a licensed CPA in the states of Michigan and Georgia. He’s been with the firm and its predecessors since 1992.
Howard Foote serves as an audit partner of UHY LLP, a member of UHY LLP’s national management committee and the leader of the Albany, NY office of UHY Advisors. He has over three decades of professional services experience providing practical business advice to a variety of organizations including banks, credit unions, public authorities, public benefit corporations, as well as governmental entities, not-for-profits and entities in the commercial sector. Mr. Foote contributed to the development of the firm’s national financial services practice that serves a broad range of financial institutions including de novo and multi-national institutions. He also supports the firm’s public authorities and governmental practice which focuses on serving and educating clients in that sector. Mr. Foote is chairman of the board of trustees of Siena College, a former chairman of the AICPA Credit Unions committee and past treasurer of Ellis Medicine. Mr. Foote received his B.B.A. from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a licensed CPA in the state of New York.
Anthony Frabotta, who has been with the firm and its predecessors since 1974, is the firm’s chairman and chief executive officer. In 2000, he was a key contributor in the creation of what is now known as UHY Advisors, and he has served on the national board of directors and executive committee since the date of inception. Prior to 2000, he was partner at one of UHY Advisors’ legacy founding firms, Follmer Rudzewicz & Company. Mr. Frabotta is a strong supporter of many community institutions. His civic involvement includes serving as a member of the board of trustees and treasurer for DMC Legacy, as appointed by Michigan’s Attorney General. He is a board advisor for several local nonprofits. He also was a founder of UHY Cares, the firm’s independent 501c3 nonprofit organization. Mr. Frabotta received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Wayne State University in Detroit. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Michigan.
Michael Mahoney has been a member of the firm’s national executive committee and board of directors since 2010. He has been with the firm and its predecessors for over 30 years and currently has oversight responsibility for each of the firm’s Northeast offices. Mr. Mahoney specializes in services to venture capital, private equity and investment companies, providing due diligence and transaction related services for their investment pursuits. He is well versed in the complexity of equity transactions and working with private and public clients. He also has significant experience auditing consolidated financial statements including foreign subsidiaries utilizing the international network in which the firm is a member. Mr. Mahoney received his B.S. from Bentley College in Waltham, MA. He is a licensed CPA in the states of New York and Connecticut. His civic involvement has included serving on the advisory board for Westchester Community College, past co-chairman and treasurer of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York, and past treasurer for the Learning Disabilities Association of New York.
Steven McCarty is a Michigan-based managing director of UHY Advisors MI, Inc., partner of UHY LLP and leader of the firm’s national corporate finance and PEO practices. Mr. McCarty has consulted on numerous business transactions providing buy side and sell side advisory, due diligence, financial analysis, tax strategies, negotiations, valuations and financing. He advises clients on costing and estimating, corporate controls and operations. He also devises strategies that align businesses with profitability drivers to increase revenue and maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Mr. McCarty serves on the advisory board and nominating committee for ESAC, and is a founding partner and board member of APEC. He received his B.A.A. in Accounting from Walsh College in Troy, MI and is a British Standards Institute ISO/QS 9000 Provisional Auditor. He is a licensed CPA in the states of Michigan and Florida, and Certified Management Accountant. Mr. McCarty’s been with the firm and its predecessors since 1992.
Steven Wendling is a managing director of UHY Advisors MO, Inc. and a partner of UHY LLP. He has over 27 years of experience including nine years with a Big Four firm and eight years in industry in chief financial officer and controller positions. Mr. Wendling is in charge of marketing and business development for the St. Louis, MO office in addition to serving as the co-leader of the public company audit practice. He works with both public and privately-held clients with significant experience in the manufacturing and distribution, financial services, hospitality and technology industries. Mr. Wendling currently serves as a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth’s St. Louis chapter and advisory board member of The First Tee of Greater St. Louis. He also is a director of the Western Golf Association, where his efforts assist in providing college scholarships to well-deserving caddies through the Evans Scholars Foundation. He is a past president of Westborough CC and has served as an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law. Mr. Wendling received his B.S. from Purdue University. He is a licensed CPA in the states of Missouri, Illinois, California, Hawaii and Wisconsin.
