New Brain Injury Rehabilitation Course Now Available From Approved Continuing Education Provider Education Resources Inc.
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) November 03, 2015 -- The course, Brain Injury Rehabilitation: Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome, is recommended for occupational therapists and assistants, physical therapists and assistants, speech language pathologists, teachers, psychologists, counselors, and social workers. Participants will identify neurophysiological correlates of symptoms of post brain injury and symptoms, functional implications, and strategy options that may be customized to client need. The course will provide a framework of intervention that may be used across age spans and symptom severity, as well as teach participants to implement and adapt context-specific functional strategies to their clients' symptom and environmental demands. Participants can earn 13.5 contact hours (1.35 CEUs) while growing their skills.
Shari Woelke is an occupational therapist and sole proprietor of Woelke Occupational Therapy (WOT) based in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Her current practice primarily targets brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder (largely with military patients), learning and emotional disorders. The company is engaged in several research initiatives investigating the potential of EEG biofeedback techniques to motor recovery post brain injury and emotional regulation in military veterans post combat. Shari published the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Basics series of ebooks in 2012. Shari is board certified in biofeedback modalities and provides mental health, brain injury and biofeedback mentoring support to other service providers.
