Mahe, Seychelles (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- Forefront Inc., a leader in the mobile health and fitness space, announced today the release of the Dehydration Test app on Android. For the first time ever, the app lets users check their current hydration level and dehydration risk with a simple and non-invasive finger scan. The app not only shows if the body is hydrated, but in case of dehydration it lets the user know how severe the situation is.
“In the U.S. alone, more than 500,000 annual hospitalizations are primarily due to dehydration,” said Dr. Shimon Zilbershlag, CEO and co-founder of Forefront, “most of them are emergency admissions and cost billions of dollars in hospital charges. We’ve therefore rolled this unique mobile product to the market, offering everyone a fast and simple way to check their condition and save substantial social and financial costs and possibly lives."
The Dehydration Test app automates a recognized medical procedure that's been used by health personnel manually for years. The app performs this by scanning the user's finger as he presses it down on the camera lens. With the use of a patent-pending innovative algorithm and advanced image processing techniques, the system calculates the user's capillary refill time and determines his dehydration risk. The results are shown within seconds.
In addition, the user gets a detailed log of all his previous results and can set test reminders.
According to the company, an iOS version will be released soon.
