HOPKINS VILLAGE, Belize (PRWEB) October 14, 2015
October 18, 2015, marks 15 years of romance, adventure and award-winning customer service at Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort, a top boutique eco-resort in Belize. Since day one, this eco-chic resort has offered luxurious, sustainable accommodations outside the quaint village of Hopkins, away from the tourist path and just steps from the Caribbean Sea. Over the years, Hamanasi has continued to exceed travelers’ expectations, providing a one-stop resort that affords the best of Belize from a beautiful, centralized location.
The resort is the dream-turned reality of two adventurous Americans, Dana and David Krauskopf, who turned their vision of a little resort on a secluded beach into a successful model for sustainable tourism. Hamanasi has experienced continual levels of growth thanks in part to its three core values: guests are treated like family and enjoy an experience of a lifetime; employees receive incentive and ongoing training programs that encourage a happy, skilled and proud staff; and Hamanasi works with local organizations to help in crisis as well as with everyday projects.
On opening day in October 2000, Hamanasi Resort’s 25 staff members welcomed guests to eight exquisite rooms on 20 acres of littoral forest. Today, the resort has 125 employees caring for 30 acres of tropical paradise with 25 rooms, including 13 private treehouses – the first resort in Belize to offer these unique accommodations – two honeymoon suites and 10 beachfront rooms. In 2010, the resort added an onsite organic garden, growing more than 35 crops in 40,000 square feet with no artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Just this year, the resort completed 10,000 square feet of renovations and additions to the Great House, while remaining committed to a sustainable process. Along the way, Hamanasi has earned a lot of “firsts”, including becoming the first beachfront resort in Belize to receive Green Globe certification, earn Sustainable Tourism International’s STEP Bronze Level Eco-certification and become “Certified Organic” by the Belize Organic Alliance.
Hamanasi’s ideal location allows travelers to access the very best of Belize on and offshore without having to jump from one place to the next. The resort’s Adventure Center arranges for guests to explore national parks, lush rainforests, caves, waterfalls, jungle rivers and Mayan sites. Travelers who enjoy water-based activities can go snorkeling, fishing and scuba diving off the Belize Barrier Reef or all three Belizean atolls. Hamanasi is a PADI 5-Star Resort that also offers a PADI Open Water Certification Course and continuing education for divers. The adventure resort offers a Reef and Rainforest package ideal for guests who wish to explore mainland and marine activities during their stay. Hamanasi also offers wedding and romance packages to make planning one’s special occasion a hassle-free experience.
Throughout the years, Hamanasi has received awards and recognition from numerous organizations such as TripAdvisor, Green Globe, Conde Nast Traveler, Sustainable Tourism International, Luxury Travel Guide and Caribbean Tourism Organization among others. The resort was named Belize Hotel of the Year (2009), made Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List (2014) and was recently chosen as Luxury Travel Guide’s Luxury Adventure Resort of the Year (2015).
