Dusseldorf Airport Announces: Duesseldorf Airport (DUS) Winter Flight Schedule in Effect End of October
Düsseldorf, Germany (PRWEB) October 14, 2015 -- For travelers wanting to visit Germany and Europe for the many beautiful winter attractions, and for those who want to escape the cold season for warmer destinations, Düsseldorf Airport’s winter schedule (starting at the end of October) offers plenty of options for convenient travel. 54 airlines offer flights to almost 140 destinations this season, connecting Germany’s third largest airport – and Federal State North-Rhine Westphalia’s (NRW) largest airport – with the world. About 100 weekly connections to intercontinental destinations are offered. Says Dr. Ludger Dohm, chairman of the airport’s management board: “Leisure traveler, manager, or city hopper – everyone benefits from the diverse route network and extensive offers of destinations in Düsseldorf.”
Air Berlin continues its focus on fights from Düsseldorf to the Caribbean. Having increased the number of flights, the airline now operates two weekly flights to Curacao, and offers flights to six Caribbean destinations: Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Varadero, Barbados, Romana and Curacao.
Germanwings is changing its Düsseldorf fleet to larger aircrafts. Canadair CRJ900 aircrafts with about 80 seats are being replaced with Airbus A319s and A320s with about 150 seats.
Emirates Airlines’ noon flights to its hub Dubai on the world’s largest aircraft A380 operate on the winter schedule, as do its evening flights to the same destination on the Boeing 777.
Travelers can reach several new destinations from Düsseldorf starting this winter: Cathay Pacific starts operating four weekly nonstop flights from NRW’s capital to Hong Kong, the Chinese metropolis at the Pearl River Delta. Hong Kong is a city of about seven million and is considered one of the world’s most dynamic economic centers. Flybe now flies daily to the British seaport Southampton. Germania flies to Israel metropolis and “White City” Tel Aviv.
Also new: the weekly connection by SunExpress to Salalah, the city in the South of the Sultanate of Oman, with beaches as white as snow and crystal clear water. Turkish Airlines flies to Ankara three times a week on the winter schedule.
As it did this summer, Eurowings serves Marseille, the third-largest city in France, during the cold season. Flybe continues flights from Düsseldorf to Cardiff, Wales. Czech Airlines continues flights to Ostrava in the Northern part of the Czech Republic.
Flybe increases its number of flights by one weekday connection to both Manchester (now 21 weekly flights) and Birmingham (now up to 29 times per week). Turkish Airlines increases flights to Istanbul’s Airport Sabiha Gökcen from seven to ten per week.
