Lion Brand® Yarn Company Supports Project Knitwell and the Alzheimer’s Association with New Book, The Comfort of Knitting
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 21, 2015 -- In partnership with Project Knitwell, Lion Brand® Yarn Company has just released, The Comfort of Knitting, a “how-to” book for caregivers featuring learn-to-knit instructions, tips for stress relief, facts on the health benefits of knitting, and seven beginner-level knit and crochet patterns.
Recent research shows that knitting can provide therapeutic benefits for stress relief; this book aims to educate individuals who spend long days and nights caring for families during times of distress about the positive impact that knitting can have on their lives. The Comfort of Knitting is an informational book with a focus on self-care for the well-being of both the caregiver and the patient.
“Project Knitwell is the perfect partner to collaborate with because they are a non-profit organization with firsthand experience working with caregivers. We knew that we could combine our knowledge on knitting and its effect on health and interpersonal relationships to create an informative and supportive book for both caregivers in high stress situations, and patients needing help through a difficult time,” says Ilana Rabinowitz, Lion Brand’s VP of Marketing.
All of Lion Brand®’s proceeds from this book will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association and Project Knitwell to support their work supporting the special needs of caregivers.
