HNTB is looking forward to expanding our presence in the District, where many of our professionals live
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) October 15, 2015
Continued growth of HNTB Corporation’s mid-Atlantic operations in the District of Columbia is driving the firm’s commitment to lease office space at 80M Street SE. The addition will meet immediate needs and accommodate anticipated future growth.
A move is planned for October 19th. Fifteen-20 positions will work within the office. However, HNTB’s presence in the District is not new. The firm has employed professionals at a variety of construction sites and field offices throughout D.C. and is proud of the more than $4 billion dollars in construction value for infrastructure projects within the region over the past five years that it has designed, managed, or currently supports.
“HNTB is looking forward to expanding our presence in the District, where many of our professionals live,” said Nick Antonucci, PE, vice president and mid-Atlantic district leader. “Our commitment to our transportation clients in the region is rooted in our decades-strong history helping shape infrastructure in our nation’s capital and northern Virginia.”
The firm began working in D.C. in 1949 on renovations to the White House. Since then, HNTB has played a role in major infrastructure projects in D.C., including bridge design and rehabilitation, Metro station and airport improvements, stadium and convention center development and urban corridor revitalization and enhancements including:
- 11th Street Bridge connecting Anacostia Freeway and Interstate 695
- National Mall Traffic Simulation Models
- Great Streets Program (improvements to Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE)
- Program Management Consultant, Anacostia Waterfront Initiative
- I-295/Malcolm X Avenue Interchange
HNTB also has helped residents in the District by creating new jobs and opportunities through training programs centered around these infrastructure projects.
