The 1st Annual MyProjectorLamps Short Film Contest concluded in the summer of 2015. Votes were officially tallied and the grand-prize winner was a film by Indian film director Krunal Palande called "Fast Lane". The winner was decided by votes cast by anyone who came to the MyProjectorLamps website, watched the films and electronically cast their ballot. MyProjectorLamps has a love of films, and loves supporting amateur and up-and-coming artists who are in involved in the industry.
The 1st Annual Film contest was a great way of letting the film viewers decide which film was best; a true viewer’s choice award. A new contest will begin this year; however, the rules will change on how the winner is selected. The contest entries will be viewed and judged by a panel of film critics and film experts and a winner will be chosen by unanimous decision. However, before it gets to that stage, the entries will be voted upon by the general public and only the top 10 entries will make it to the final round. Thereafter, the top 10 entries will be turned over to the judges to decide the winner. Somewhat similar to the process made famous by popular television shows such as American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
The 2015/2016 MyProjectorLamps Annual Film Contest will begin November 23rd and the deadline for entries will be January 31, 2016. Entries will have 1 month to complete the process of receiving votes and the deadline for voting will be February 29th, 2016 (leap year). The Judges will have 2 weeks to decide on a winner and the winner will be announced March 15th, 2016.
Contest entry forms will be located on the MyProjectorLamps website and the films will be posted for viewers to watch, comment, and vote. Should you have any questions regarding the contest rules, submission process, please visit the website or feel free to an email - submissions(at)myprojectorlamps(dot)com.
