Registration for summer 2016 camp sessions at the Camp Inc. Business Academy in Colorado opens Thursday, October 15, 2015. Based on camper and staff feedback, and the desire to always improve and evolve, the elite business-focused overnight summer where teens entering grades 6-12 come from all over the world to gain the skills necessary to become future leaders and innovators, is also excited to announce the addition of four new business tracks for summer 2016.
“The tracks were inspired by our very own campers' interests,” said Josh Pierce, Chief Camp Officer. “Last summer, we offered electives in design and coding that were hugely successful. We decided it was time to broaden our specialty offerings and give campers an opportunity to choose their own focus in one of four key areas of business and entrepreneurship.”
In order for campers to be successful in business today and in the future, the Camp Inc. Business Academy is committed to providing each and every camper with an incredibly well-rounded and hands-on learning experience during their summer overnight camp sessions. This is why they have designed their summer business program for 2016 around four focus areas of business, also known as ‘tracks’, which include Finance, Marketing & Design, Coding, and Startups.
Campers have the opportunity to choose one of the four new business tracks to concentrate on during each summer camp session.
1) The Coding Track is ideal for campers wanting to go into software development as they will learn website design, coding languages, database design, app development, and more.
2) The Finance Track introduces campers to the monetary side of starting and running a successful business, and investing in other businesses just like the popular TV show Shark Tank.
3) The Marketing and Design Track focuses campers on 3D printing, graphic design, and product design; plus taking a product to market and the marketing strategies used in that process.
4) The Startup Track teaches campers how to brainstorm their own startup, effectively pitch their business idea to potential investors, and turn their startup dream into reality.
As one parent of a seventh-grade camper from the summer 2015 sessions commented: “Thanks so much for all the great things [[my son]] learned and experienced with you at camp! From the prayers, to the songs, to the day to day routines of camp life, as well as the amazing experience of learning how to create a business, do the research, and pitch to the public! The knowledge and experience is PRICELESS!”
By building comprehensive skills in each business track, campers will leave the Camp Inc. Business Academy with the fundamental tools needed to be successful, whether they continue their business idea generated at the Camp Inc. Business Academy, create an entirely new business, or simply focus on their schooling.
With 91 campers and 28 staff from 27 states and 6 countries for the summer 2015 camp sessions, next year’s camp sessions that start June 19, 2016, and run through August 11, 2016, promise to be even more diverse, inclusive, and educational.
“Aside from our fantastic new tracks, we are planning a fresh lineup of mentors, trips and tours, and fun skill-building electives such as culinary, rock band, sports skills and drills, and sustainable agriculture,” notes Pierce.
