FileWave announced today the latest release of their flagship solution, the FileWave Management Suite. FileWave version 10 adds many new features, such as support for Windows 10, new OS X 10.11 and iOS 9 management capabilities, enhanced remote control, teacher profiles in Engage classroom management, and much more.
NEW APPLE MANAGEMENT FEATURES
Among the new management features are numerous Apple DEP (device enrollment program) and VPP (volume purchase program) enhancements, including the option for VPP licenses to be assigned to iOS 9 devices without requiring an Apple ID. This new opt-in method provides an easy way for IT teams to create a layered deployment model by assigning institutionally purchased apps to a device, without the need for an Apple ID.
Version 10 also brings new OS X El Capitan and iOS 9 payloads, giving FileWave IT Administrators more management options than ever before.
OTHER NEW FILEWAVE FEATURES
Additional new features include the ability to define dependencies for a Fileset via a simple drag and drop interface, a new UI (user interface), and much more. These new features provide IT Administrators the ability to easily control all of their organization’s devices and settings from one console - saving precious time and money.
A SIMPLER, MORE POWER, ENGAGE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
In Version 9 FileWave added the release of Engage, their classroom management tool. Engage reduces administrative tasks, maximizes instructional time, increases student participation, and provides a method to check for student understanding – all from one console. In the newest release, Engage now allows FileWave Administrators to create and share any profile within the FileWave Admin console and choose to make them available to teachers in Engage with one simple click. Once available, teachers have the ability to easily enable or disable any feature that is controlled by an available profile, providing extremely flexible, and timely, device control where it matters most - in the classroom.
