October is National Positive Attitude Month
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- October is National Positive Attitude Month, a clearly defined opportunity to “Think positively. Expect great things.” Recognizing that a positive attitude has a tremendous impact on children and adults alike, Doodle Bugs! Children’s Centers is celebrating positivity with multiple initiatives.
This “positivity campaign” is a natural extension of the Doodle Bugs! mission to build a community of happy children, happy parents, and happy teachers. “We understand that thinking positively is the key to happiness, beginning in early childhood,” said Director of Education & Training, Christina Fecio. “When adults model optimism, positivity, and empathy, children develop those same pro-social behaviors.”
• Best Day Ever
In appreciation of the faculty’s efforts to build a community of happy children, happy parents, and happy teachers, this fall, Doodle Bugs Center Directors were treated to a limo ride, spa day and "ladies lunch". Their day of pampering kicked off a season of Best Days Ever at Doodle Bugs! To keep the excitement going, centers were paired up and tasked with planning the Best Day Ever for each other. This initiative is a fun, light-hearted way for the entire Doodle Bugs! team to share their appreciation for one another and to spread positive energy throughout the doodle community
• Employee Recognition System
As part of continued efforts to build a community of happy children, happy parents, and happy teachers, Doodle Bugs is using a sophisticated web-based system to gather input from employees to better define and execute “the Doodle Bugs! Way”. This new program is two-fold: The first tool is a strategic recognition system that acknowledges employees who provide an excellent doodle experience for families and coworkers. The second is a semi-annual employee survey that will allow employees to regularly provide feedback on how the company is doing in their efforts.
• Kindness Campaign
This fall, Doodle Bugs! Children’s Centers sponsored Mike Seege’s Say No to Bullying Magic Show in more than a dozen Buffalo-area elementary schools. Throughout September and October, Mike brought his fast-paced, high-energy show to thousands of students spreading a message that kindness counts and bullying will not be tolerated. This kindness initiative perfectly complements Doodle Bugs’ Bravo! curriculum, which focuses consistent attention on enhancing children’s understanding of what it means to be kind.
While extra efforts have been focused this fall on the “positivity campaign”, Doodle Bugs! maintains an ongoing emphasis on training opportunities because teachers’ professional development instills a sense of preparedness and overall competence. Formal training courses, including CPR and AED certifications, are complemented by practical tools, such as emergency response reminders on every employee’s name tag. Fecio adds: “When teachers are confident in their skills and knowledge – from medication administration to first aid – they comfortably approach each day with a “can do!” attitude.”
