Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley Expands Operations
Central Valley, NY and Westchester County, NY (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- To improve service to its growing membership base in the lower Hudson Valley and to better position itself to respond to increasing construction activities taking place throughout the region, Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley (CIC) opened a new office this month, located at 219 Route 32, Suite 201B in Central Valley, N.Y.
“As the population and businesses expand into the lower and central Hudson Valley, there is an ever-increasing need to meet with public works officials, government leaders and private developers on a broad range of construction subjects,” CIC President Ross J. Pepe said. “The high-tech tools of the internet and mobile communications, though extraordinary, can only go so far to address and resolve complex challenges in the area of construction, government relations and matters of procuring qualified and skilled labor – all of which is better done face to face.”
Mr. Pepe, who also serves as executive director of the Construction Advancement Institute of Westchester & Mid-Hudson Region, reported that CIC’s Director of Labor and Field Operations, Matthew Pepe, will expand his professional activities in the areas of labor relations, government public works with municipalities as well as working with counties and state agencies in the region.
“This second office is a natural outgrowth of the expansion that has occurred in the Hudson Valley,” said Matthew Pepe. “We expect to present more programs, meetings and networking opportunities, working together with public officials, members of organized labor and leaders of industry-aligned trade organizations such as the Construction Contractors Association in Newburgh to efficiently respond to the needs of the industry in the area.”
He noted that the region’s leadership of management and organized labor several years ago united under the banner of the Hudson Valley Construction Industry Partners (HVCIP). The coalition of more than 600 employers and more than 30 union locals meet annually to assess the state of the construction industry and plan joint activities to address the pressing regulatory, legislative and industry challenges in the region as well as in Albany and Washington. The new office in Central Valley will help facilities these discussions, he added.
The Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley, a 500-company trade association, continues to maintain its headquarters at 629 Old White Plains Road in Tarrytown, N.Y., 10591. The headquarters’ phone number is 914-631-6070. The phone number for the new regional office in Central Valley is 845-827-6677.
