Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- The International Institute for Analytics (IIA), the leading independent research and advisory firm focused exclusively on guiding its clients to leverage the power of analytics, today named five companies as the finalists for the 2015 Excellence in Analytics Award (The ANNY).
The five companies competing for the award are Dignity Health, The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”), Enova International, UPMC Health Plan, and XL Catlin. The winner will be announced and presented with the award at IIA’s 4th annual Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) Summit October 27, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV at the Bellagio Hotel.
Recipients of the ANNY award are nominated by IIA’s community of analytics experts and practitioners in recognition of each organization’s use of analytics to drive measurable business impact. All nominees were asked to complete an in-depth application and were evaluated in five key areas:
• Outcomes: Evidence of sustained, measurable success against planned targets and objectives
• Ambition: Evidence of innovative and unique quantitative analytical techniques being applied
• Scale: Level of coordinated internal resources to foster a meaningful, enterprise-wide analytics program
• Skills: Evidence of a commitment to improving analytical skills of all user types across the enterprise
• Insights: Evidence of higher quality insights and decision-making resulting in the analytical activity
The finalists were selected after a rigorous review process conducted by IIA’s Co-Founder Tom Davenport, VP and Research Director, Daniel Magestro and IIA Faculty. This annual award acknowledges companies that go above and beyond to develop advanced analytics capabilities. These trailblazing organizations make use of analytics to deliver significant impact to their businesses. Previous years’ winners have included Procter & Gamble, UnitedHealth Group, Intermountain Healthcare and The Ford Motor Company.
“It’s exciting to see the extraordinary efforts these five finalists have put forth, and the analytics initiatives that are propelling their businesses forward. We are seeing true innovation here with the use of analytics to create tangible and lasting benefits at these companies. Hats off to Dignity Health, Dow, Enova International, UPMC Health Plan, and XL Catlin for their successes. We look forward to celebrating them in Las Vegas,” said Daniel Magestro, Ph.D., IIA Vice President and Research Director.
