MimioMobile App with MimioStudio Classroom Software Selected as Best Upgraded Product in Tech & Learning Magazine’s Awards of Excellence Program
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- Once again, Mimio, a global leader in interactive teaching technologies, has been chosen for “best upgraded product.” Its MimioMobile™ collaboration and assessment app with MimioStudio™ classroom software was awarded the honor in Tech & Learning magazine’s annual Awards of Excellence program. This marks the fourth year in a row that this prestigious award program has honored a Mimio product.
This release of MimioStudio 11.3 offers full compatibility and seamless integration with the MimioMobile 3 mobile application – the only app that enables educators to deliver collaborative lessons across any Apple or Android mobile devices for up to 50 students at a time.
Last year, the second generation of the application and MimioStudio 11.2 classroom software were recognized for the significant enhancements Mimio had made. In 2013, the company’s MimioProjector™ interactive projector was recognized as an innovative new product.
This year’s 33rd Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence program honored new and upgraded software, hardware, network, and Web products. A panel of more than 30 educators tested over 150 entries and chose the winners.
“For nearly 20 years, Mimio has set the industry standard for high-quality, affordable, flexible, and innovative technology solutions,” said Dan Winkler, chief technology officer for Mimio. “This recognition – for the fourth year – means so much to our company. But even more important to us is continuing our tradition of developing and delivering best-in-class products that support teachers and students with a better way to learn.”
As with all versions of the MimioStudio software, MimioStudio 11.3 integrates with each of the MimioClassroom™ products. In addition, it supports Common Core State Standards guidelines through ongoing assessment and collaborative learning, and it powers virtually any type of interactive displays. Teachers have even more flexibility and control with the expanded MimioStudio Collaborate feature, which gives educators the option of having a single student, group, or the entire class work on the same activity. They can pause student sessions, share them in any combination on the front-of-the-class display, or hide all the sessions. Teachers now have a far greater ability to highlight, discuss, and share student work with the entire class.
With a single MimioStudio classroom license and the MimioMobile 3 app, any student with an Android or Apple mobile device can participate in collaborative learning and ongoing, real-time formative assessment, including open response questions. Schools and students benefit from more collaborative group instruction, which encourages participation and idea sharing, and supports the requirement of the Common Core State Standards for a more student-centric learning environment.
The next release of the MimioMobile app, due out next month, will expand the app’s capability even further, enabling it to be used on any device with a compatible Web browser.
