GiveCentral Announces New Credit Card Auto-Updater Feature in Midst of EMV Migration to Ensure Recurring Donations
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) October 19, 2015 -- GiveCentral, the innovative, web-based fundraising tool for nonprofits, announced it is now working with major credit card companies to automatically and securely update donors' credit cards, minimizing the number of "lost" donations from expired or compromised cards. GiveCentral estimates that, across its membership, partners will save a collective $30 million in donations that otherwise may have been lost.
A driving factor in this new service is the new global standard for credit and debit cards requiring the use of EMV chip card technology. The new standard came into effect on October 1st, and among other changes, it requires card issuers to replace millions of cards, most of which will have new expiration dates. Over the past two months alone, GiveCentral has updated over 25,000 cards for its partners.
