HUD has the right to review your TSP, to ask for adjustments if not in accord with their rules. You need to know what is needed in the TSP for HUD's approval. – Debbie Hixon, President and Owner of Hixon Training & Consulting, LLC

Tenant Selection Plans (TSPs) are a fundamental safeguard for property owners to prevent their future decisions about giving tenancy from being questioned or brought before any authority for fair housing violations. Since the process of distributing housing is often contentious and almost certainly involves someone being denied housing, allegations of unfair housing practices are rife. Drafting a Tenant Selection Plan and keeping it before the first unit is allocated is the best option for property owners.
However, while this move would be the best option, many home and property owners do not create TSPs or do so incorrectly. This is often due to these owners lacking the information or guidance that would enable them to do so. The Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) is very vigilant and has been processing far more claims for unfair housing than it used to, and many of these claims could have been avoided if the home or property owner had chosen to create a TSP from the very first instance.
With the HUD issuing many changes and updates to the rules and regulations surrounding the obligations of property owners, keeping up to date and involved with TSPs and the compliance requirements around them becomes even more essential. To help home and property owners be better prepared for the challenges ahead and comply with the often changing regulations, AudioSolutionz will present a webinar titled “What You Should Know About a Tenant Selection Plan” with Debbie Hixon, the President and Owner of Hixon Training & Consulting, LLC, an expert with over 25 years of regulatory experience in the affordable housing industry.
The training session will provide participants with the most up-to-date tools to understand the upcoming regulations, trends and the directions to which they must turn to adapt to the changing regulatory environment in affordable housing.
